Learner's licence and driving licence
Get a learner's licence on Sarathi, pass the test, and then apply for the permanent driving licence.
Time: The learner's licence is valid for 6 months
What you need
- Proof of age and proof of address
- Photo and signature
- Form 1 (self-declaration); Form 1A medical certificate if you are 40 or older or for a transport licence
- Fee receipt (amount varies by state and class)
Step by step
- Open Sarathi, choose your state and select New Learner Licence
- Fill in the form, upload documents and pay the fee
- Pass the learner's test (online in some states, at the RTO in others)
- While the learner's licence is valid, book and pass the driving test at the RTO
- Download or receive your driving licence
