Get free photo ID for voting (Voter Authority Certificate)The UK has no national ID card. If you have no accepted photo ID to vote in England, Scotland or Wales, apply for a free Voter Authority Certificate. Get or renew a UK adult passportFor British nationals aged 16 or over: apply online or with a paper form through HM Passport Office. Get a provisional driving licence or renew your photocardApply for your first provisional licence to learn to drive, then pass the theory and practical tests; renew your photocard every 10 years. Get a basic criminal record check (DBS)A basic DBS check shows unspent convictions. Scotland and Northern Ireland have their own services. Order a copy of a birth certificateOrder certificates for births registered in England and Wales from the General Register Office (GRO); Scotland and Northern Ireland have their own services.
